The addition of a cotton plug to the original Dispette tube has enabled laboratory personnel to perform the ESR test under safer conditions than was previously possible.
The suitably diluted blood sample is dawn up the Dispette by means of a vacuum pump until the cotton plug is obviously saturated with the sample up to about half way, but no further. This has the effect of zeroing the column to the start of the graduated scale yet ensuring that blood from the Dispette tube is not open to the air at the top.
The Plugged Dispette is available as:
Plugged Dispette (FH-1530)
The Plugged Dispette pack contains 250 pipettes.
This method will require a suction pump to fill the pipette with the blood sample.
